Eric Frangenhiem

Eric started teaching in 1970 in Zimbabwe and has taught in South Africa and Queensland. He has held the positions of HOD and Deputy Principal (South Africa) and Education Adviser for G&T in Capricornia, Queensland (1989–1992) and was Coordinator for G&T at an independent school (1993–1995).

He is the director of Rodin Educational Consultancy (www.rodineducation.com.au), which concentrates on the promotion of the ‘Thinking Classroom’ through the use of appropriate thinking and learning tools/strategies. Much of his work is based on his book ‘Reflections on Classroom Thinking Strategies’, now in its 7th edition. 'Reflections' is sold in other parts of the world through Sage publications of the UK and is a set text at USQ and QUT and is a recommended text in 13 universities. 'Reflections' is the basis for many of the thinking tools in the Innovative Teachers’ Companion. He is also the author of ‘The Reconciliation of Goldilocks and the Three Bears’, a publication designed to promote thinking tools in the examination of texts.

Eric is a regular presenter of workshops and lesson demonstrations in schools and at conferences throughout Australia and New Zealand.
