Completed - July 20th - Business Educator's Association of Queensland (BEAQ) 2019 ConferenceSwitched on! 
Overview: The 2019 BEAQ Conference focused on the progress and development in rolling out Year 11 subjects this year as well as the importance of fostering cognitive verbs, entrepreneurship and innovation. Gerard Alford, itc publications Director, presented a workshop to over 100 Business and Economics teachers' at the conference. Over 300 teachers' attended the State Conference at the Brisbane Convention Centre. 


Completed - July 26th - Pacific Coast Christian Schools workshop - Differentiated Instruction Workshop
Overview: Gerard Alford, itc publications Director, delivered a Differentiated Instruction workshop with 30 teachers at the Pacific Coast Christian School. This school is just 4 years old and is loacted along the beautiful Tweed River.

Overview: Gerard vistied the wonderful teaching staff at Alexandra Hills State High School to conduct our popular 'Welcome to thinkdrive' workshop. thinkdrive is our latest digital resource and for local schools we offer a FREE 45-60 minute introductory workshop to teaching staff. Completed - August 5th University of Queensland - School of Education - Explicit Instruction workshop
Overview: Gerard delivered a guest lecture to the dynamic students at UQ. Dr. Katherine McLay's English class are in the final stages of their Masters of Teaching course and are preparing for their final teaching practicum. The guest lecture was centered on the teaching of the cognitive verbs in the English syllabus. The Qld. English syllabus is the only Qld. senior syllabus with a non-written response as part of their internal assessment; a persuasive speech worth 25%. The workshop focused on the task verbs compare and argue. We wish the terrific Masters students every success for the remaining few months of their course. 

 

Completed - August 9th & 10th - Adolescent Success Conference - for educators who care about young adolescents!

Overview: Adolescent Success Inc is a not for profit association for teachers, schools, businesses and other educators who care about young adolescents and education in the middle years. Gerard Alford, itc publications Director is presenting a Explicit Teaching; Scaffolding for Success workshop on Friday the 9th of August.

Overview: The Professional Development Network is a not for profit group, formed by School Leaders for School Leaders. Each year, they offer after-school workshops, leadership breakfasts and a 2 day conference on the Gold Coast.
